What should I do if I receive an unsolicited Duo authentication request?

Do not allow the authentication. Instead deny the authentication, and report it as unusual. There are two methods to deny the authentication:

Via the Duo Mobile app:

  1. Tap “Deny”
  2. Tap “It’s unusual - I’m not sure I should approve it”

Via a phone call:

  1. Answer the phone call
  2. Press "9" to report the phone call as fraudulent
