How should I handle my office phone number when telecommuting ?

There are a few ways one can handle their office phone number while telecommuting (forwarding to home phone, forwarding to cell phone, checking voicemail at regular intervals...). Each department may have their own policy for office phones, so individuals should check with their supervisor(s) as to the best method for their specific position and responsibilities.
