Select the appropriate version of the CAEN Lab Software Environment (CLSE) you would like to use, either CAEN Labs 2016 or CAEN Labs 2016 Umberto. Once connected, you will be logged onto the remote computer automatically in your web browser. Click OK to acknowledge the usage notice, after which you will be presented with the CLSE for Windows.
Note: Since there is currently no mechanism for determining whether a connection is on-campus vs off-campus when using the web client, software that is licensed only for the CAEN Labs 2016 On Campus connection will not be available.
Download and install the VMware Horizon View client:
- Windows, Mac OS, Linux, iOS, and Android users: The client software is available on the VMware website.
- Chromebook users: The client software is available at the Chrome Web Store.
You can follow the ITS usage instructions to install the client and connect. Two main items to note:
- Make sure to set the Connection Server to midesktop.umich.edu:

When you see the dialog box pictured below, double-click either CAEN Labs 2016, CAEN Labs 2016 On Campus, or CAEN Labs 2016 Umberto as appropriate:
